Mobile operator EE has announced the replacement for its Orange Wednesday’s movie deal.

EE ended their famous midweek 2-4-1 cinema tickets earlier this year and has revealed a new ‘offer’.

We say ‘offer’ because frankly it’s all rather disappointing.

Instead of cheap/free cinema tickets, EE users can now get to stream a ‘blockbuster movie’ from online service Wuaki.tv. (No, we’ve never heard of it either)

Texting ‘Film’ to 141 will see you given a special code (costing £1, plus 35p text charge) which can be used between Monday and Wednesday on Wuaki.tv on a selection of new and classic HD movies.

EE chief marketing officer Pippa Dunn said: “More people than ever before are downloading and streaming movies so they can watch at home or on the go.

“With 1 in 3 UK adults enjoying digital entertainment every week – and this number is only going to grow – our viewing habits are clearly evolving.”
